Nail Fungus Laser Treatment

Health Canada approved a nail fungus laser treatment option in February 2011 and Dr. Troy is Canada’s first Pin Pointe Foot Laser Certified Provider in this technology. He treats patients in and around the Vancouver area, including Delta, Surrey, White Rock and Richmond, BC. Treatment with a toe nail laser is fast, effective, safe and pain-free. Patients are in and out of their appointment in about 40 minutes, and in most cases only one nail fungus laser treatment is needed to kill an infection.

The convenience of treating toe nail fungus with this advanced laser allows patients to return to their normal work or physical routine immediately after the procedure. Absolutely no recovery period is needed, and the after-care plan is simple to follow. In addition to applying a specialized antifungal cream, care is given not to expose the toe nails to environmental conditions that may harbor fungus, which is typically found around swimming pools, in athletic club showers and in whirlpools.

In only 2-4 months after a nail fungus laser treatment, patients begin seeing clearing at their toe nail base, and after 12 months the smaller toe nails grow out completely into clearer, healthier nails.

This treatment has already been used successfully in over 70,000 cases worldwide, curing up to 90% of treated cases. Now Dr. Troy brings it to the Vancouver area of British Columbia.

The appointment is simple and fast: nails are trimmed and cleaned, Dr. Troy adjusts the pulsed YAG laser to attack the fungus while only causing a slight warming sensation on the patient’s toes, and two passes are made over each infected nail. At no time is the toe nail at risk for root damage, nor is the surrounding skin affected. A nail fungus laser treatment is simply far more effective than traditional oral antifungal medication or topical treatments, and it carries no side effects.

Toe nail fungus is a common condition, but it doesn’t have to be a permanent one. Contact Dr. Troy today and find out why his nail fungus laser treatment is an effective method for stopping toe nail fungus.
